As expected, the change of Bentley motors will occur during the planned renewal of model range of British carmaker, scheduled for the next few years. The new units are expected to be borrowed from models of Volkswagen and Audi.

The first Bentley Hybrid car will be Bentley Arnage Hybrid. Manufacturer plans to equip Arnage luxury sedan with hybrid power plant. This will happen only after appearance of a new generation of this model in 2010. The basis of this element will be the standard 6.75 liter V8 engine and hybrid system developed by Audi.

In addition, a new generation Arnage will likely use one more Audi product, a special aluminum chassis that will reduce vehicle weight by 150 kg and will positive impact on fuel economy.

At the car show in Geneva Bentley announced that it plans to develop a radically new engine and gearbox by 2012 that will reduce emissions by 40 percent. Many thought that the game will enter a diesel engine, but the head of Bentley R & D reported that diesel can reduce emissions by 25 percents only and hybrid - 15.
