Nissan announced that its developers managed to create their own hybrid propulsion system. Experimental hybrid built on the base of Infiniti G35 (Nissan Skyline). The distinctive features of the car are as follows: rear-wheel drive and a parallel scheme of the electric and gasoline motors. In this scheme, motor may be connected directly to the traditional engine and transmission by two independent clutch that operated electronics.
At a low speed the car goes only by electric traction. Both motors are working together during acceleration, and when driving at a constant speed motor turned off and hybrid car uses only the internal combustion engine. The energy for powering the electric motor is accumulated in the lithium-ion batteries block. New generation lithium-ion batteries was developed by Nissan. These batteries are twice as effective and 50 percents cheaper to manufacture than previously used batteries.
Serial Nissan hybrid car will appear in 2010. Meanwhile, Nissan called hybrid car manufacturer nominally. In the U.S. Nissan sells Nissan Altima Hybrid, built at the power plant of Toyota company.
Altima Hybrid was the first hybrid car of Nissan. It debuted in October 2006. Nissan Altima Hybrid was created by Nissan on the basis of technology Hybrid Synergy Drive, developed by engineers from Toyota.
